I am an oil painter based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Raised in Portland, Oregon, I began my artistic training in high school through classical apprenticeships with Eduardo Fernandez and Nathan Seay. After studying music for several years, I moved to Michigan and returned to oil painting with a rediscovered passion for the exploration of color and light. Whether painting a studio still life or a plein air landscape, I paint from life, with an alla prima (wet-on-wet) approach.

When not in the shared studio with my twin sister, Emma, a children’s book illustrator, I am probably out trail running, playing guitar, reading a good book, or thinking about what to paint next.
